| Kittle Takes A Double Barrelled Approach |

 After capping off season 2009 with second outright in the Australian Off Road Championship, Peter Kittle Motorsport has taken a double barrelled approach to the 2010 season by splitting the current “Kings of the Desert”, David Fellows and Andrew Kittle for the first time. David will continue to pedal the #2 Peter Kittle Motorsport Jimco, while Andrew will unleash the brand new #14 Jimco which the team has been working on flat out since Christmas.“It was a bit touch and go for a while whether the new car would be ready for the ARB Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450. However, everything has fallen into place and we are very close to starting it up for the first time, and the team is planning on doing some testing in the next couple of days” said Andrew Kittle. “It's the first time since we've been campaigning a two car team that both our Jimcos will be virtually identical. We used Dave’s #2 Jimco as a template to work off, which means we will have the benefit of most parts being interchangeable” continued Andrew.  While it has been all hands on deck to get the #14 Jimco ready to race, David Fellows has spent the off season preparing the #2 Jimco for the year ahead.“Apart from switching to a 5 speed Albins transmission, it's the same car that had a strong finish to the 2009 season” said David Fellows. “However, we have a big year ahead of us to stay competitive at the front of the field.” After serving a five year apprenticeship with David Fellows, Andrew will be sliding behind the wheel of the teams brand new #14 Jimco at Hyden. While Andrew has navigated his way to numerous Australian Off Road Championship round wins and Finke Desert Race crowns with Fellows, it will be the first time Andrew has entered an AORC round as a driver. In preparation for the 2010 season, Andrew took Fellow’s Peter Kittle Motorsport Jimco up to the NT Titles in Alice Springs a few weeks after Goondiwindi, where he locked away third outright and gained some valuable time in the seat. "What Dave has taught me over the years will stand me in good stead. It will take some time for me to come to grips with the car, but I am really looking forward to it” said Andrew Kittle. The introduction of the second Jimco to the team, sees two new navigators come on board. David Fellows has been paired with Mark Bergamin and sitting alongside Andrew Kittle in the #14 Jimco will be Simon Amos. “Simon has never done anything like this before and hasn’t sat in the car in anger as yet, so Hyden will be a bit of an off road baptism for him” said Andrew Kittle. Once testing is completed, the cars will be washed and loaded in the truck for the long trip across the Nullarbor to Hyden for the first round of the Championship. Author: Randall Kilner
