The South Australian based S&S Race Team will make the excursion from Waikerie in the South Australian Riverland to Hyden 400km east of Perth to stamp the South Australian mark on the ARB Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450.

The team has loaded the Schilltrans Kenworth with the #513 Nissan Navara of Jeff and Jai Loader, the #205 Evolution Super 1650 of Troy Johnston and Christopher Henke and the #971 S&S Race Frames Pro Buggy of Scott Schiller and Leanne Walker and are ready to cross the big paddock to get to Hyden.

The lead up to the start of the season has been extremely busy at the S&S Race Frames workshop, with major modifications to team vehicles, along with maintaining customer vehicles.

The biggest modifications were made to Jeff Loaders #513 Nissan Navara Performance 2WD, with an overhaul of the entire suspension package. “The Navara now has the specs that would impress any Extreme 2WD racer” said Loader. “We’ve put a lot of work into getting it right and we think we’re there. Hyden will be the ultimate test”.

Troy Johnstone’s Evolution Super 1650 has a new engine package for season 2010. The buggy has been immaculately prepared for the ARB Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450 with the team looking for a good finish to get their 2010 campaign off to a good start.

“We’ve put Hyden down as one of our events for the tri series so we’re keen to get a good result this weekend” said Johnstone.

The #971 S&S Race Frame Pro buggy of Scott Schiller and Leanne Walker has also spent some time in the workshop. The Pro buggy suffered a major drama at the 2009 Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro when it endo rolled on the first lap. Leanne is happy to be getting back in the buggy this weekend, her first event since the accident in September.

“Eric and Bazz at the S&S workshop have worked really hard leading up to this race to get mine, and the team’s cars, ready to race” said S&S Race Frames owner Scott Schiller. “I’m looking forward to getting back on the track with Leanne and running on the edge as always.”

The S&S Race team, transported by a Schilltrans Kenworth, were last seen heading through Port Augusta.
