Preparations are well underway for the MTQ Engine Systems Griffith 700, Round 3 of the 2010 Australian Off Road Championship. Track marking is nearly finished, the Pit Area at the Blue Dot Speedway has had many hours of work undertaken to enlarge the pit area and the Performance Metals Jump has been constructed. The Griffith Off Road Club asks that all competitors attending the event make themselves and all of their crew aware of the refuel requirements. There was a bulletin issued by CAMS on the 8th June updating the Off Road Standing Regulations clarifying the refueling procedures. Click here to read. The organisers ask that you also make yourself aware of the additional event specifc Refuel Area Instructions and Rules. A change has been made to the finish timing position for each lap placing it before the refuel entry. An updated map is available here. This has been done to alleviate the non-recording of a time if someone is towed from the refuel area if thier vehicle does not start, as a vehicle must cross the timing point under its own power with all crew in it to be timed. The provision for a vehicle to be towed by an official vehicle to the pits after your refuel time has elapsed if your vehicle fails to start will be included in the event Further Regulations.
The MTQ Engine Systems Griffith 700 gets underway in Griffith at 4:00pm on Friday 23rd July with Scutiny and a public display at the Griffith Show Grounds. A Prologue to determine starting positions will be held the Blue Dot Speedway from 10:30am on Saturday and the MTQ Engine Systems Griffith 700 commences at 7:30am on Sunday 25th July.
