Western Australian’s are winding up their summer off season as Championship campaigners prepare for the first time to don their helmets in 2012, with the annual running of the Rod Hatter Memorial Yealering 300 in early March.

The event information, including Supplementary Regulation and Entry Form, are now available on the event page (click here).

The Nissan Car Club is expecting the upward trend of entries from 2011 to continue through 2012, and with new vehicles in the wind, a good strong field of competitors will be heading the three hour drive south east of Perth to Yealering on the weekend of 3-4 March.

Zeb Casey is busily preparing his new Ford Ranger Extreme 2WD to debut in March. “The truck landed four months ago and we’ve been flat out getting it ready for this year’s Western Australian Off Road Championship” commented Zeb. The 6 litre Chev powered Ranger replaces the tried and tested Nissan Patrol Production 4WD campaigned in 2011 and a change of class to Extreme 2WD for the WA Access Hire Race Team. When asked about the class change Zeb said he was looking forward to the bigger air and softer landings of the new truck from that of the Patrol.

Navigator Kiera Mann-Piercy will be swapping seats at Yealering, taking on the driving duties for her first drive of the teams Mazda RX5 while Dad (Hugh) looks on from the sidelines, taking on the duties of Clerk of Course.
