Statement released from the Baroota Off Road Association

1231b_sm Lock April 28 & 29 into your diaries for the return of one of Australia’s premier offroad races, the Bentley’s Cabin Park Flinders 450 at Baroota in South Australia. Hosted by the newly formed Baroota Off Road Association (B.O.R.A.), the 2012 event is primed to build on the success of last years AORC round.

The second round of the South Australian Off Road Championship is positioned six weeks before the Tattersall’s Finke Desert Race and the MBL Sea Lake Mallee Rally and will provide the perfect start to the 2012 off road calendar. Especially when combined with the impressive prize pool which is sizing up to be in excess of $10,000 in cash and product.

Competitors and Spectators alike will also benefit from the infrastructure established in 2011, which includes the new pit and spectator area. While the 65km Baroota course mixes the fast and flowing terrain through the sheep grazing property with the traditional berms and caverns for which the forty year old race track is famous.

The property now has full development approval from the Mt Remarkable and Districts Council, ensuring a secure future for off road racing at Baroota.

Supported by Extreme Motorsport, Exact Mining, Nyrstar, ARB and Performance Metals, the Bentleys Cabin Park Flinders 450 has been designed to be a family friendly event with competitor camping on site, catering, and a licenced bar to complement the great spectating.
