The Fraser Coast Off Road club have pulled out all the stops to host an event on 14-15 April to replace their postponed 3-4 March long course event.

A change in venue from the Burrum Heads Road long course staging ground, which is still suffering from rain damage, back to the short course track on Terry Horne’s property, where the event ran in October last year.

The club are adding an extensive drainage system to the track in an effort to weather proof the event.

Slotting the event into April will fill the gap from the Gympie Short Course event held earlier this month to the 5-6 May scheduled Nindi Gully race, which will be the first round of the Round 1 Queensland Off Road Championship.

The new April Fraser Coast Short Course will be round 2 of the Queensland Drivers Series and Round 2 of the Queensland Short Course Championship.

The organisers have also made changes to the track, moving some of the tight tree’d sections to the open paddock to add in short straight stretches.

2011 Fraser Coast Short Course victors Clayton Chapman and Adam McGuire, along with the Chapman Off Road Team’s Mitsubishi racers of Rob and Leila Chapman confirmed today that they will be on the start line for the April event with Clayton looking forward to battling it out with last year’s second place getter Jared Melville in the Nail It Racing Razorback Super 1650.

Supplementary Regulations are in progress and will be published here when approved.
