The Goondiwindi Motorsport Association is pleased to announce that Albins Off Road Gear is continuing its long-time support of the club with their signing as the major sponsor for the 2012 Goondiwindi Australian Off Road Championship event in August.

ARB Australia and Extreme Motorsports have also confirmed their backing for the event, which will be Round 2 of the Australian Off Road Championship, Round 4 of the Queensland Off Road Championship and Round 6 of the Queensland Off Road Drivers Series.

The Goondiwindi Town Council and the Border Rivers Chamber of Commerce have committed their assistance, along with local sponsors to ensure the 2012 event is one of the best undertaken.

The Goondiwindi Motorsport Association has been inundated with phone calls of interest by past and new competitors, with an overall resoundingly positive response to the new event date of 3-5 August. It is therefore strongly advised that even the regular competitors book accommodation well in advance.

“Please don’t hesitate to contact the club with any concerns, as no matter how big or how small, we will do our best to look after you all” commented Paul Campbell, Organising Committee representative.

The recent rain events throughout Queensland and New South Wales have sidestepped the Goondiwindi region. Club members are commencing track preparations this weekend.

Goondiwindi is a mecca for major regional events and, as such, alongside off road racing on the weekend of 3-5 August will be horse power event of a different kind; a polo cross, four legged horse power, event attracting competitors from far and wide.

“While we don’t see this effecting the accommodation in town, it will pay to book early” added Paul Campbell.

“The Goondiwindi Motorsport Association Committee has not stopped working since the October 2011 event. Our official positions are filled, strategies are in development and the Supplementary Regulations are underway, as we are well aware how quickly August will be upon us. If you would like to be a part of this great race please don’t hesitate to contact the club.”

A link to Goondiwindi accommodation has been added to the events page.
