Warialda… Ready for Racing
Sunday, 18 March 2012
With it now less than a week until the start of the 2012 Hunter Rivmasta Warialda 200, preparations are being finalised to ensure a fun, fast, entertaining and family friendly weekend.

The Warialda Motorsport Club have overcome the recent rainfalls to produce a track club President Howard Rose is proud of, he exclaimed “it’s the best the tracks been in years”. Rose and Sons Earthmoving have been instrumental with the work, spending numerous hours grading and smoothing the rough terrain to make it a fast flowing track.

Friday night will be a hit for the teams and spectators alike with scrutiny set to get the weekend off to a flying start. Cars will be scrutineered and put on display Hope street adjacent to the Royal Hotel to enable the crowd to get up close and personal with cars, drivers and crews.

Local drivers will be present on the night handing out posters to promote the event and show off the large pool of local talent. Live entertainment, food and a cold beverage will be on offer as a taster for what will be a great weekend.

Saturday’s racing will set the bench mark for the two day event starting with the prologue, always an exciting exhibition of off road racing with the racers keen to stamp their authority and let the other competitors know just what they’ve got. The long course will determine the race winner on Sunday with the feature event, the Delungra Ag & Auto and Darryl & Jenny Ellison Building sponsored Dash for Cash, where, for the winner, an added cash bonus along with finishing the race.

With Warialda being the first round of the New South Wales Off Road Championship, many crews are eager to kick-start their 2012 campaign at one of the state’s most popular races. Entries are flowing in, and with nominations available until 23 March, a large quality field of off roaders is expected and reason to be excited at the prospect of some high exhilarating nonstop racing around the famous Mount Momomeeth Circuit.

The Warialda Motorsport Club invites all interested spectators and race teams to venture out to Warialda this weekend, the 24th – 25th March; racing starts 10.30am Saturday and 8 30am Sunday. The Warialda track offers full catering facilities and great spectator viewing, so bring the family along and get bitten by the off road racing bug.
