Bonnor and Coleman GET together
Wednesday, 21 March 2012
Queenslander Dan Bonnor will head south west this weekend, across the border to the Hunter Rivmasta Warialda 200 for his second major race in the Chev LS2 GET Performance Pro Buggy.

1263b_sm Bonnor debuted the GET at the Hedweld Milbrodale Mountain Classic in August last year, but due to the cancellation of Goondiwindi, and subsequent work commitments, hasn’t been able to get behind the wheel in competition since having his first taste of the off road racing adrenalin rush. Bonnor has completed a couple of private testing days over the off season break, but is looking forward to mixing it up on the track.

Bonnor’s regular navigator, Dan Harris, is unavailable for this event, so fellow stable mate racer Matt Coleman from Warrnambool, will slip into the left seat with Bonnor hoping the more experienced Coleman can help him hone his race craft and give him pointers on setup. Coleman's Alpha and Bonner's GET are out of the same workshop, both built by Gene Towler in the USA.

From Warialda, Bonnor plans to contest the Tatts Finke Desert Race in June with Towler making the trip down under to support his new protégé and the more experienced Finke campaigners, the Coleman Motorsports team, with Matt Coleman racing the #55 Alpha Pro Buggy.

Towler came to Australia in October to assist Bonnor at his first Australian Off Road Championship event at Goondiwindi but, as the record books will reflect, due to torrential rain, no race cars would take to the track in anger.

With names like Crowe, Rose, Bulmer, Chapman, Towers, Fehlhaber, Marshall and Napier all on the nomination list for the Hunter Rivmasta Warialda 200, Bonnor and Coleman will be testing their wits against a high quality field of off road racers.
