Hyden goes Ballistic

Eric and Neil Phillips and the Ballistic Racing Team have blitzed the 15km prologue track at the ARB – Total Asphalt & Traffic Management Hyden 400 today, driving the Ballistic Racing Aceco #96 a mere 3.64 seconds ahead of the first of the BAT Racing entries of Justin Steadman and Andrew McCarthy #68.

Rounding out the top three and a further 24.55 seconds behind Phillips was the BAT Racing stable mate Brad Cooper and Darian Smith in the BAT Spec 4 #968.

The single seat #109 Jetco of Phillip and Stewart Shepley finished in fourth only 42.07 seconds off the pace with Craig and Marcus Wells #198 driving the Razorback ProLite into fifth outright and second in class with a gap of 46:41.

1283f_sm Single seat driver Rex West and his #967 Raceco clocked in at sixth 1:00.36 back, with the second of the Ballistic Racing team’s Steveco Pro buggy with Steven Phillips and Joel Gibbs behind the wheel of the #996.

Owen and Mitchell Davies put in a mammoth effort to be the first of the tin tops on the score sheet, finishing eighth outright in the Nissan Navara #828 in 12:00.91. Hard chaser Jeremy Lia and Jase Dalton caressed the Super 1650 #220 Rivmasta into ninth outright by nothing short of a sneeze, in 12:00.94.

1283g_sm Rounding out the top 10 in the Racegear WA Motorsports RGWA Bullet was Mal Yeardley and Jordan Russell #171.

Section 1 of the ARB - Total Asphalt & Traffic Management Hyden 400 is due to start at 2:00pm (WST).

The last of the Pro buggies has finished their prologue.  Results will be posted when received.

Justin Steadman in the first Pro buggy to finish the prologue.

The ProLite Simkin Racing #123 has stopped trackside just shy of the end of their prologue run.

Keith Rance and Glenn Caporn in the Magnum Slingshot have limped the #54 back to the pits from their prologue run.

The BAT Racing Pro buggy of Justin Steadman is under starters, to lead the Pro buggies on their qualifying lap.

Stephen Ketteridge-Hall has launched his #181 ProLite buggy onto the tyres at the start of the prologue track.  Recovery are unbeaching the buggy.

The ProLite class, headed by Phil Shepley and the Digrite Racing Jetco #109, are off and running on their prologue.
