Element Off Road Ready For Baroota
Thursday, 26 April 2012
2011 capped off a consistent and successful year for the Element Racing team of brothers Aaron and Carl Haby, climaxing with first and second outright respectively in the South Australian Off Road Championship.

A busy and productive off season for the Element Racing was put to the test at the first round of the 2012 South Australian Off Road Championship, the Mannum Enduro. An exciting line up of 31 local and interstate off road machines started the event with only five finishing full race distance. The dusty conditions and grueling track took its toll on competitors and machinery alike.

1314b_sm A Mannum second outright finish by Carl and wife Tammy, stepping into the navigators seat for the first time, was an exceptional result, with a minor fuel pressure problem costing them valuable time. Both Element Pro buggies were extremely close in times and were looking spectacular over the jumps and fast straights before Aaron’s #57 engine suffered internal overheating. This resulted in an earlier than expected rebuild and enhancement of the engine that had performed so well and consistently in 2011.

The team are now ready to tackle the picturesque Baroota track at this weekend’s Exact Mining Bentley’s Cabin Park Flinders 400 in their Element Off Road 6.0ltr Chev powered Pro Buggies #56 and #57.

With Baroota now their main focus, the team is looking to chalk up a finish at the Batoota track, something that eluded them at the first Baroota event of the 2011 season.

Set to thrill the spectators, the designed and built Element suspension showcases their driving abilities on the fast straights, berms, jumps and whoops of the Baroota track. Brenton Gallasch will return to the #56 navigator’s seat alongside Carl while Aaron will take to the track solo in the #57 single seater.

With some rain on the track during the week, the racing will be spectacular for spectators and competitors. The Element cars will make the Longest Leap interesting, as both drivers can launch their drives.
