The Onkaparinga Ramblers Car Club are turning up the heat for this year’s running of the Richard Bennett Memorial Enduro at Parilla on 19-20 May with a revamped format and new section of track.

Ramblers cub members spent their Easter preparing the venue and marking the track, including the addition of a new exciting section to the 32km course.

A 30 minute service break has been slotted into Sunday’s race format with the compulsory break to be taken between laps four and five of the eight lap race.

South Australia has a strong following for its intrastate multi-club series and with only seven competitors eligible for South Australian Off Road Racing Association Multi Club Series points for round one at Mannum, the local series is wide open.

Current SAORRA points leader and defending 2011 event victors will be the Element Racing Teams Carl Haby and Brenton Gallash. With the second of the Element Racing Teams machines of Aaron Haby unable to enter due to work commitments, the battle for outright honours will be fierce.

James and Grant Madden have two Parilla titles under their helmets and will be pulling out all the stops to rack up a third, while fending off challenges from Wally Francombe and Luke Erceg. Francombe, who is sitting third on the point score, will reportedly have the Rids Race Frame #42 repaired after its recent rollover in time for the Parilla green light.

Lindsay Foster is another hard charger unavailable for the Richard Bennett Memorial Enduro, potentially surrendering his second place on the leader board.

Land owner and previous winner Pat Bryne is in between rides at the moment; the team currently building up an Extreme 2WD.

Full catering will be available at the venue. Event information, including Supplementary Regulations, are now available and can be found here.
