The BAT Racing Team’s Brad Cooper leads the Narrogin Chase after two sections of racing today. Cooper and the BAT Spec 4 Chev LS2 powered #968 Pro buggy into a 4 minute 22 second lead over Adam and Craig Trewhella in the #52.

1330c_sm The #967 Raceco of Rex West clocked in third outright less than a minute behind the Trewhella Motorsport team, closely followed by Max Pilmer and Barry Lyon #73 finishing on three wheels. Rounding out the top five and leading the ProLite class was Mal Yeardley and Jordan Russell #171.

Overnight rain made for wet, muddy and slippery racing for the first laps this morning; with the rain holding at bay for the rest of racing resulting in a fast bedded down track by the end competition.

1330b_sm The slippery conditions in the opening laps caught out Phil Shepley with the Digrite Racing Jetco taking a massive hit to a tree, ending the teams Narrogin aspirations.

The first Extreme 2WD on the time sheets was the #430 of Dirk VanGeest with Jason Galea and Markus Christie driving the Flat Out Off Road Racing Toyota Hilux into first in Production 4WD class.

Overnight Super 1650 class honours goes to the rookie drive of Jason DeBruyn with Dad Wally in the navigators seat. Jason has stepped up to the driving duties after learning the trade navigating in the Super 1650.

1330d_sm The People’s Champion Racing team headed by Russell Cullen and Daniel Fahey topped the Extreme 4WD class.

Competition resumes at 8:30am Sunday morning when the field will traverse a further four laps of the 12km circuit.
