The Albins Off Road Gear Goondiwindi 400 to be held in Queensland from the 3rd to 5th  August is the focus of many competitors now that round one of the Australian Off Road Championship, the MBL Sea Lake Mallee Rally, has been run and won.

“This year’s event is shaping up, with all the key elements falling into place. We have had quite a few enquiries from competitors since Sea Lake, all eager to chase AORC points” commented Paul Campbell, Organising Committee representative.

Moving the Albins Off Road Gear Goondiwindi 400 forward to 4th - 5th August to avoid the unpredictable weather has required some changes in the format. Due to the shorter daylight hours in August, track reconnaissance will now be on Friday from 12 noon to 1:00pm in road registered vehicles.

Scrutiny and documentation will be as in previous years, at the Showgrounds from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Prologue is schedule for Saturday at 10:30 with the prologue reconnaissance preceding it at 9:00am. Following on immediately after the completion of the Prologue will be the Top 10 Shoot Out for the fastest ten competitors. The entire field will take to the 80km track for one lap commencing at 2:00pm.

Two further laps for all competitors will be undertaken at 8:00am Sunday morning after which the Australian Off Road Championship competitors will have a 30 minute service break and then be placed into Parke Ferme while the remainder of the field clears the track. Section 3 should get underway around 12:30 when the remaining AORC nominated competitors will do a further two laps of the course.

The Albins Off Road Gear Goondiwindi 400 will wrap up at the Victoria Hotel with Pre Dinner drinks, a camp oven dinner and award presentations.

The entry fees for the Albins Off Road Goondiwindi 400 for nominations received by the 29th June will be $700 for AORC and $350 for QORD. The entry fee includes a track restoration component and for AORC competitors the $45.00 ORRinc fee.

Goondiwindi has numerous accommodation options. Camping will not be available at the track, but there are full shower and toilet facilities at the showgrounds.

The Goondiwindi Motorsports Associations would like to thank competitors for their ongoing support, and in light of last year’s cancellation, hope you will all come back to tackle the infamous melon hole track. Working bees are happening every weekend until the event to ensure the venue and track are in pristine condition.

The Supplementary Regulations are currently going through the checking processes and they should be available along with the Entry Forms by the end of this week.

Event Information will be published here on the offroadracing.com.au web site as soon as the formal processes are completed.

A link to Goondiwindi accommodation has been added to the events page.
