Chevara Racing are pulling out all the stops in an attempt to shake the preverbal Waikerie monkey off their backs at this weekend’s running of the Hi-Tec Oils Riverland 300. A spectacular end-for-end roll over in the ruts directly in front of the main spectator area, saw the team’s dramatic exit from the 2011 event.

The Loader family, the faces behind the Chevara Racing team, are fresh from a successful Tatts Finke Desert Race campaign where the father and son crew drove the Chev powered Nissan Navara into second in Performance 2WD class, a mere minute behind the class victors. The South Australian team recorded the fastest time in class on the return leg.

Following on from their encouraging Finke results, the Chevara Racing cew, along with an entourage of nearly twenty friends and family, will head to the South Australian riverland and the iconic Hi-Tec Oils Riverland 300 event this weekend.

“Jeff and Jai are eager to finish this year” commented Tracey Loader, team manager. “They say Waikerie is one of their favourite events and they want to wipe last year’s roll over from the minds with a good finish this year.”

The pressure is on for the family team, with a representative from their sponsor Maxxis coming along to support the crew. Tracey continued … “Darryl was the one who put the video of the rollover last year on Youtube, so we’re hoping he doesn’t need to do that again.”

The Chevara Racing team and their crew will be holding their breath until the #513 machine crosses the finish line for its first lap, but the ultimate goal, obviously a Performance 2WD class victory.
