Griffith 350... man versus machine
Thursday, 05 July 2012
A large contingent of Super 1650 machines will make up the field of 26 off road racers heading to the Griffith 350 for this weekend’s running of the fourth round of the New South Wales Off Road Championship.

The 11 laps of the 33km circuit at the Stackpoole property is set to be a test of man and machine with tight tree sections and open fence straights.

Although numbers are lower than expected, the current top four contenders on the New South Wales Off Road Championship leader board have entered in their hunt to bank more points.

Gary Hyde and Gary Sullivan are currently on 70 points in the Bravo #335 Sportsman buggy after three rounds with the Warialda Super 1650 of Derek Rose and Luke Gilkison #279 only 3 points behind.

Extreme 2WD campaigner Paul and Fay Grant #405 are two points back in third and leading Len Barrow and the #137 ProLite by ten points.

Three Victorians are heading north to test their skills against their northern counterparts. Danny Brown is stepping back into the Trekka #259 with Dale Martin in the navigator’s seat. Both second generation off road racers with impeccable pedigree are sure to be a crowd favourite.

Also trekking north from their Victorian home base is Dean Williams and Scott McInnes in the #357 Southern Cross and the father and son team of Des and Phillip Harrington in the #497 Trophy Truck.

For those unable to attend the Griffith 350 the event results will be streamed live through offroadracing.com.au. Click on the banner from the news page or the link on the Griffith 350 events page.
