The Victorian based husband and wife team of David and Alice Middlemiss have taken outright honours at the Griffith 350 after putting down 11 laps of consistent racing in the #117 V6 Nissan powered Cougar around the Stackpoole property.

1443b_sm This is the second run for their newly rebuilt ex Craig Hoare Cougar #117 ProLite after it debuted at the recent MBL Sea Lake Mallee.

Six minutes off outright pace but a great effort for a the maiden run of his new machine was Peter Skaza and Shane Filip in the Feral #83 Pro buggy. Skaza was a regular on the New South Wales off road racing circuit until taking a hiatus of three years to build up his new self-built, self-tuned Feral buggy.

1443c_smAfter sitting in second outright for the majority of the 11 laps, Danny Brown and Dale Martin stopped trackside on lap six to change a flat tyre in the #259 Trekka; the 12 minute layover enough to relegate them to third outright and the last of the podium positions.

Fourth outright and first in Extreme 2WD class after a very consistent drive was the #405 Number One Engineering Trophy Truck of Paul and Fay Grant followed by the Sportsman Southern Cross #357 of Dean Williams and Soctt McInnes.

15 of the 27 nominations completed full race distance of 11 laps for the two days of exciting racing around the Stackpoole farming property.

After yesterday’s breakages at the front end of the field Andy Ryan and Justin Watt struggled until midnight to fix the Saber and greeted the green light for today’s race start. Unfortunately their race was short, breaking another drive shaft 10 kilometres into the first lap.
