Quality Field for Mogumber 240
Thursday, 09 August 2012
A strong contingent of eighteen Pro Buggies is amongst the forty three vehicles entered for this weekend’s 2012 Marsue Transport Mogumber 240. The traditionally tight and technical track includes everything from creek crossings to several long fast straights, and with the recent wet weather, dust will not be a problem, guaranteeing there will be some close action-packed racing.

1472b_sm Eric Phillips who was won the event for the past two years in his Ballistic Racing Cadillac powered Pro Buggy will be under pressure from the likes of Brad Cooper and Justin Steadman in the two Pinjarra Engineering sponsored BAT Buggies. Travis Robinson will be hard to beat in the OBR #13 Jimco, with Stephen Phillips also a chance to take out outright honours in the second Ballistic Racing Buggy. Greg Dunn and Rex West will lead the single seat brigade in their turbo powered Pro Buggies and be hoping to upset the more fancied runners.

Amongst the ProLites Craig Wells will be looking to continue his solid season in his Nissan powered Razorback with Murray Swain looking to challenge for the class win in the Western Australian debut of his new car. As usual the Super 1650 class will be closely contested with Jeremy Lia the favorite, but sure to have Rob Galloway, Wally Debryun and Daniel Allen hot on his heels.

David McShane and John Clinton will be running their new Extreme 2WD trucks for the first time with Peter Doney sure to give them a hard time in his Subaru powered Baja. Jason Galea will once again be amongst the front running 4WD vehicles in his Toyota Hilux with current Australian Extreme 4WD Champion Russell Cullen also entered.

1472c_sm The weekend’s activities get under way at 7.00am on Saturday 11th August 2012 with Scrutiny. Prologue commences at midday with racing proper in Section 1 scheduled to start at 2.15pm with three laps of the thirty kilometre track. Sundays racing starts at 8.30am with Presentations to be held around 1.00pm.

To get to the race venue, travel from Perth to Bindoon on the Great Northern Highway. Proceed five kilometres past Bindoon and turn left onto Moora Road, going a further 48 kilometres to Mogumber, turning right at the Pub to follow the signs to the track.

A Coffee Van with Pies and Sausage Rolls will be trackside and camping is free but facilities are limited.

The Western Australian Off Road Racing Association would like to thank major sponsors Marsue Transport.
