South East Queensland Off Road Association members and a contingent of fellow enthusiastic Queensland off roaders took to the Moore track over the weekend with Bobcats, dozers and good old fashioned hard work.

1713b_sm The damaged caused from the recent rains have been fixed and the Moore venue is race ready for this weekend’s first round of the Queensland off road racing season.

It was a sense of déjà vu for the SEQORRA track committee having completed the track just days before the rains came. Property owner Darren Orr, with the help of the hard working group, installed load after load of rocks and pipe work into the creek crossings, sculpting with bobcats to reinstate the track.

1713c_sm “We hope to see many cars here this weekend to reward the efforts of those who have worked extremely hard to ensure we have a track to use” commented Andy Hickson, the event Clerk of the Course.

With 5 kilometres of track ready to take the rigours of the off road machines, competitors have creek crossing, tight twisty sections and fast open straights to look forward to on the weekend.

1713d_sm The Moore Off Road Classic will be the first round of the Queensland Off Road Drivers Series and also round 1 of the Queensland Off Road Short Course Series and the first time Queensland off roaders can take to a track for 2013.

Full catering will be available at the track with burgers and hotdogs on the menu along with hot and cold drinks.

Event information, including competitor list, can be found here.
