Naming Rights Sponsor for Hyden
Thursday, 28 February 2013

The organizing committee of the Hyden 450 are pleased to announce the signing of a new naming rights sponsor for the 2013 Hyden Australian Off Road Championship round. Komatsu Australia have partnered with Brooks Hire to get behind the Western Desert Racers to present the Komatsu – Brooks Hire Hyden 450 – 2013.

“Komatsu and Brooks Hire have significant involvement in the Local Government and Civil sectors throughout rural and regional Australia. The sponsorship enables the company’s to promote and support events within the regional community” Colin Brindle Komatsu Australia.

“The sponsorship is a significant milestone for the Easter event. As we move into our 25th Anniversary year at Smithy’s place we have plans to remediate significant parts of the race track. This sponsorship includes, amongst other things, the use of parts of Brooks Hire’s substantial fleet of Komatsu equipment to mold the track and repair the land for future generations. The club is absolutely indebted to the Smith family and this enables us to put something back into the property” added Jeremy Beck, Western Desert Racers President.

The event takes on a new format which includes a Friday documentation culminating in an afternoon media session with one hour of interviews and activities being streamed live to the internet via offroadracing.com.au from 5pm Western Standard Time.

Saturday sees an early start for the competitors with reconnaissance, followed by prologue and a single competitive lap in the afternoon. Two laps will greet competitors on Sunday morning followed by a further two in the afternoon for the Australian Off Road Championship competitors.

Sunday night will be a trophy presentation along with party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of racing at Hyden. The club invites all competitors, volunteers and spectators (past and present) to come along and enjoy the celebrations. As usual, WDR have further plans to kick the 2013 AORC off with innovation, enthusiasm and some fantastic racing.

The team at HPSM are working closely with the organisers to ensure the 2013 Australia Off Road Championship takes off at Hyden over the Easter weekend.

The event is also supported by the Government of Western Australia and Eventscorp WA through the Royalties for Regions Regional Event Scheme.
