Geddit Racing Ready for Hyden
Friday, 22 March 2013
With the first round of the Australian Off Road Championship almost upon us, Billy Geddes and the Geddit Racing team are already on the road heading west from their North Queensland base.

2013 will be the Geddit Racing teams first full year of campaigning the Australian Off Road Championship and their first run at Smithy’s Place in the Western Australian wheat heartlands.

The truck has been repaired after the spectacular rollover at the 2012 Albins Off Road Gear Goondiwindi 400, although the team report that the accident cause minimal damage to the Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck.

1773b_sm “We thought we were chasing down two cars in front of us, but we didn’t realise that they had already pulled out of the race. We’re all set to redeem ourselves and show what the Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck is really capable of.”

“The truck actually sustained little damage at Goondiwindi. It looked a lot worse than it was; which is testament to the strength and quality that Geiser Brothers build into their chassis. We probably could have kept racing, but we were pretty shaken up, so we called it a day.”

The Geddit Racing team have also secured a new racing partner for the 2013 season with the Brown and Hurley Group on board for the Australian Off Road Championship campaign. The #441 Geddit Racing Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck will also be sporting Toyo Tyres at the opening round of the Australian Off Road Championship, the Komatsu-Brooks Hire Hyden 450.

“We will also be running Toyo Tyres at Hyden, which is a huge plus for the team. I can’t thank Brad Gallard and Jose from Toyo Tyres Australia enough for their support and assistance. We plan to use every inch of rubber on the Toyo’s at Hyden”.

Jamie Ward will once again be taking on the navigating duties for Geddes for 2013 as the team tackle the five round Australian Off Road Championship. “Goondiwindi last year was a bit of a wild ride, but I have absolute faith in Billy. He is one heck of a driver” added Jamie Ward.

Renewing their support for the Geddit Racing team are Britek Lights and the Off Road Cartel. “We really appreciate and value the support of our racing partners” said Geddes.

Running a V8 Dugan 6 litre power plant with Fox suspension, the Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck is set for Hyden.

“We started off road racing four years ago in Bernie Gwynne’s Richard Bennet Truck. We then bought the Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck from the states; we picked it up and raced it at the Plaster City event in the USA. The most we had driven it before the race was on and off the trailer, so to get a fourth outright was just incredible; the truck has been performing faultlessly ever since.”

“The truck has had outright or class podium finish in all its races, well except for Gundy. We finished ninth outright and third in class at last year’s Finke, so we know the truck has what it takes.”

“The team are really looking forward to the 2103 season and especially mixing it up with the other trophy trucks. It will be great to see all the guys again, and let’s hope the podium is full of tin tops.”
