No dozing for Anderson
Friday, 22 March 2013
One of the racers to keep an eye on at Dondingalong this weekend is Craig Anderson in the #187 ProLite Buggy.

Anderson can usually be found at the controls of a bulldozer, or some other type of excavation machinery, but one things for certain, when the green lights flash on to start the off road racing action, he won’t be dozing at the wheel!

The Jim Anderson Dozer Hire Dondingalong Off Road Challenge, to be held 23-24 March, is round 1 of the New South Wales Off Road Championship, Round 1 of the East Coast Tri Challenge, and Round 1 of the recently introduced Off Road Warehouse SCOR Masters.

For Craig Anderson, first and foremost, it is an event being sponsored by his father’s company.

Anderson is a member of the Kempsey Macleay Off Road Club, and has only been involved in the sport for two years. Having started racing off road at Nabiac in 2011, last year saw him step up and contest several races across the state in a single-seat buggy that he purchased earlier in the year.

“I am really enjoying my off road racing” Anderson said.

“You could say the bug has really bitten hard. My car took a hammering in last year’s races, and it’s been a real last minute thrash just to get it ready for Dondingalong. I wouldn’t be racing at all if it wasn’t for my sponsors Jim Anderson Dozer Hire and the Bridgestone Tyre Centre in Kempsey, family, and friends, and I can’t thank them enough for their support”.

“Off road racing is a great sport, with its own set of challenges, plus I really enjoy the company of the people involved. That’s why when the opportunity arose to sponsor the Dondingalong race our business quickly put its hand up”.

“The Kempsey Macleay Off Road Club certainly appreciate our support, and it’s members have been great to work with in the lead up to this weekend”

“I’m sure there will be plenty of top action for the spectators to watch, so bring the family out. Best of all it’s free admission. What could be better than that” Anderson said.

Full amenities are available at the track, including a canteen. Racing on Saturday commences from 10.30am, and resumes on Sunday at 9am.
