Outer Bounds Racing (OBR) will be out in full force come the opening round of the 2013 Australian Off-Road Racing Championship at Hyden this Easter Long weekend. The OBR team has prepared a two car assault as they set their sights on the coveted Australia #1 plate.

1791b_sm Travis Robinson and Paul Currie will once again team up in the BFGoodrich Tyres supported twin-turbo Jimco Pro Buggy #13. The Nissan powered Jimco has undergone a ground-up overhaul in readiness for the 2013 season.

“We have had a massive amount of time between races so it was the best time to do an overhaul,” said Travis. “The competition is tough; you can’t afford to stand still. The guys at the workshop have done a great job getting the car ready, we have worked on our brakes, motor and a little bit of fine tuning in all other areas”.

1791c_sm Beau Robinson and Ken Skinner will be campaigning the Geiser Bros Trophy Truck for the first time since Finke last year; the truck showed it has the potential to run up front and will certainly be one to watch out for.

“I am not sure if we will be able to run with the Pro Buggies at a technical track like Hyden, but that is most certainly my goal. Ken and I just need to make sure we keep it on all four wheels and try and avoid any on track carnage” stated Beau.

“This season will be about consistently finishing, whilst still challenging for wins every event” commented Beau. “Although simple in theory, we are focused on eliminating all of the small mistakes and doing our best to avoid any driving errors. All we need is the opportunity to be there at the end and have clean consistent laps; the rest should fall into place.”

1791d_sm Whilst the Komatsu-Brooks Hire Hyden 450 will no doubt be a positive event for many with its return to the Australian Off Road Championship, it will unfortunately be the last event run on the Smith's property.

"OBR and offroading in general owe a great deal of gratitude to the Smith family and we look forward to celebrating the good times we have had racing with them at Hyden with all of our family and friends over Easter" said Brian Robinson.

OBR fans can visit www.facebook.com/outerbounds or www.youtube.com/obr184 to follow OBR as they prepare to wage war against the competition and fight for victory through the dirt, metal, and carnage that is off road racing.
