TJM Pro Locker - Lockyer 300 - Communique No 5
Monday, 14 October 2013

The TJM Pro Locker - Lockyer 300 event organisers are changing into top gear to finalise preparations for the 2013 event. The Lockyer Valley regions prime position, nestled between the two major regional centres of Ipswich and Toowoomba and an hour drive from the Brisbane CBD and outer Gold Coast areas, accompanied with the picturesque valley and foothills of the Mulgowie area, make for a unique back drop for the final round of the Australian Off Road Championship.

This year the organisers of the TJM Pro Locker- Lockyer 300 have made an attempt to rectify some concerns voiced by competitors at last year’s event. The course has been widened, some of the potential bottle neck areas have been removed from the course and new sections added thanks to new property owners volunteering their properties.

The course crew conducting the track marking is well ahead of schedule, with more than half the course stick picked and marked. As previously mentioned the scrutiny venue has changed for the 2013 event, from Plainland to the Gatton Showground. The Gatton Showground offers a larger area for scrutiny and has given the organisers an opportunity to provide some more entertainment to help get the weekend off to a flying start.

Media coverage for the weekend of off road racing is starting to gain speed with the announcement from HPSM that they have negotiated to have the TJM Pro Locker- Lockyer 300 go to air on Channel 7 instead of 7Mate.

Accompanying this exciting news the team from Creek to Coast aired their story on the TJM Pro Locker-Lockyer 300 Ride Day, which was held at the end of August, over the weekend. The impression left on them from the ride day ensured they will also attend the event proper and again film proceedings.

The organisers wish to thank TJM as the Naming Sponsor along with Tourism and Events Queensland and The Lockyer Valley Regional Council as the major sponsors. They would like to thank the group of event sponsors and the class sponsors who have come onboard to sponsor each of the classes.

The organisers are confident with all the effort they have put in to improve nearly every aspect of the event that everyone from spectators, officials and competitors will have an enjoyable experience.
