Western Desert Racers are once again proud to be hosting the opening round of the AORC for 2014. This year sees the exciting move for the marquee event in Western Australia to Kalgoorlie. The club is pleased to have the great support of local business, sporting clubs and volunteers. The opportunities that the new location provide to racers, sponsors, teams and spectators will undoubtedly outweigh the disappointment that we all felt with the move from "Smithy's Place"

The Western Desert Racers club has been busy working on creating a new iconic event from the ground up, armed with the vast experience gained over 25 years. The proximity to a major population centre and all of the facilities that entails, gives the event and participants the ideal vehicle to showcase our great sport.

The event will be held over the Easter weekend 19th - 20th April 2014.
Supplementary regulations are in with CAMS, but a schedule listing key times is below

The track will take in varied terrain including sand, gravel and red dirt tracks. WDR are working with many local, state and national sponsors to ensure the event is resourced to the highest standards.

There are many accommodation options available. The club has put together a list of suggestions – click here. A secure lockup pit area is available at the site along with ample crew camping, but limited shade.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the volunteers that have already committed to tasks before, during and post race.
