Fans of the Australian Off Road Championship can expect to watch more live television in 2014, with the Championship returning to Fox Sports News as of next week.

With all rounds of the AORC being broadcast on Speed TV Australia again this year – in addition to free-to-air coverage on 7mate and affiliated stations – an arrangement with Fox Sports News will see the sport being given extra exposure throughout the upcoming season, including round previews, reviews and driver appearances on the pay TV channel.

Start Me Up Racing’s Matt Hanson and Outer Bounds Racing’s Beau Robinson will be the first to appear in the Fox Sports News bulletin at 5pm next Thursday April 10 on Channel 513, to launch the new season of racing and preview the first round at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, over the Easter long weekend (April 18-20).

“This level of national television exposure is exactly what the Australian Off Road Championship has deserved for a long time,” said Hanson.

“We produce some of the most exciting motorsport in the country, so from an entertainment perspective it’s great to showcase that, but also commercially it’s a huge opportunity for the teams and sponsors to get some extra media coverage which they may not have had access to before.

With a new naming rights sponsor in Tonka coming on board for 2014, Beau Robinson concurred:

“Off road racing is the best kept secret in motorsport, so it goes without saying that this sort of television coverage is exactly what we need to help grow the sport even more.”

“It probably won’t be appealing to get our ugly mugs on TV,” Robinson joked. “But if it’s to tell everyone about how good off road racing is then the more people that know about the AORC the better!”

Tune in to Fox Sports News next Thursday April 10 on Channel 513 from 5pm.

The 2014 Australian Off Road Championship consists of five events across five states, commencing in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, on the Easter long weekend. The complete 2014 Australian Off Road Championship calendar is as follows:
