Welcome everyone to the TJM Lockyer 300 Off Road Event for 2014.

With two rounds of the championship already behind us and with the final round only four months away, it’s time to start the series of Communiques.

Firstly, I must thank TJM Industries for coming aboard again this year as our event’s sponsor. Amanda and Brad from TJM were a great couple to work with in 2013 and are this ramping up their activities.

A brief overview of the event this year is:

Saturday 26th July
Promotional Rides for Sponsors and Media along with “thank you rides” for Property Owners who graciously let us use their properties. Invites to Lockyer Valley Regional Council, TJM, Events Queensland, Class Sponsors, HPSM and Media.

The day starts at 0900 hrs. with reconnaissance of the track to be used, which will be shorter this year and fully visible from the start and finish point, then followed by rides until morning tea.

Rides and photographs will continue until lunch, which along with the morning tea will be catered for by the organisers.

After lunch, although not confirmed at this point in time, Creek to Coast filming with more rides until 1500 hrs when the proceedings will be wrapped up for the day.

Documentation and Scrutiny
This year we have moved the Friday activities to the Laidley Showground and have secured the entire showgrounds for our use so I would suggest that would be my first point of call for accommodation with powered sites, toilets and showers at the grounds.

Documentation along with scrutiny will take place on site along with catering by the Laidley Show Society on Friday Night making it extremely easy for you the competitor and only 30 mins. from HQ and the course.

The Course
Very much the same as 2013 with about half a dozen areas that will be revamped to make it more suitable for you, which will be done during these winter months. The distance will be the same as 2013.

Itinerary
The itinerary is still under review with a target to reduce the window where nothing is happening for the spectators, mainly the time taken for reconnaissance. There are a number of options on the table and hopefully this year we can incorporate a pit walk.

Awards Dinner
This year we are moving the dinner to the hall at the cricket grounds with the catering still being done by the Mulgowie Hotel. This will allow us to have a major upgrade for the presentation of awards, with the Class Sponsors being able to speak and present their trophies. Subsequently the winners will have ample time to thank their sponsors and team members.

Communique No. 2 will provide updates.

Barry Neuendorff, Clerk of the Course
