Off road racing is set to return to Goondiwindi in just over two weeks’ time with the annual running of the Albins ARB Goondiwindi 400.

Infamous for its Malapunyah Run, the Goondiwindi track is a bucket list item for teams across the country. Moreover, crews will be heading to Goondiwindi chasing Queensland Off Road Championship points and ARB Off Road Racing Series points.

2605b_sm The Goondiwindi Motorsport Association have been busy preparing the venue for the onslaught of off road racers, with many improvements undertaken over the last 12 months.

The 2014 Albins ARB Goondiwindi 400 kicks off on Friday 22nd August with long course reconnaissance followed by a family festival evening including scrutiny and vehicle display at the Goondiwindi Showgrounds. Entry to Friday night is free, so a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the teams and their vehicles.

The competition proper gets underway on Saturday at 10:30 with the running of the prologue, immediately followed by the spectacular Top 10 Shoot Out. With the starting order determined from the prologue, the awesome off road machines take to the track for first time for 2014 at 2:00pm for a one lap sprint around the 80km circuit, incorporating the notorious melon holes and Malapunyah Run.

Entry to the venue for spectators on both days will be $5 per person or $10 a car with under 12's free.

2605c_sm Engines igniting into life will break the silence as the sun rises over the Goondiwindi landscape as crews ready themselves for four more laps of the gruelling 80km course. Who will tame Malapunyah Run? Will Brad Gallard return to defend his 2013 outright victory?

Entries for the Albins ARB Goondiwindi 400 close on Thursday 14th August, however, to be included in the event program, an entry must be received by Sunday 10th August. 25 teams have registered already lodged their nominations and with valuable ARB Off Road Racing Series points and Queensland Off Road Championship points up for the taking, log into your off road profile account and lodge your entry.

The Goondiwindi Motorsport Association have taken a different approach to their entry fee pricing this year, including four pit crew passes and two navigators in the $490 price tag.

Accolades from the weekend of hard fought off road racing will be presented at the presentation dinner on Sunday night at the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre where a night of ‘would ofs’, ‘could ofs’ and ‘should ofs’ will be exaggerated as the evening plays out.

2605d_sm Presentation dinner tickets are available for purchase when you lodge your online entry, or separately via the presentation dinner tickets online order form. Tickets are prices at $35 for adults and $15 for children under 12, with under 5 free.

Live results and streaming of the Track PA will be available all weekend via offroadracing.com.au live timing service.
