Round 2 of the 2015 ARB Off Road Racing Series heads back to the heartland of off road racing this weekend: the MBL Sea Lake Malley Rally ARB 350 in central Victoria. The event, now in its 42nd year, has attracted a quality field of 99 teams ready to take on the 88km track.

Making the trip from Tassie this year will be the single seat Pro buggies of Scott Rockliff and Michael Donohoe, the ProLite of Chris Boon and the Performance 2WD of Stephen Watkins. These teams are no stranger to Sea Lake with both Watkins and Rockliff finishing last year’s event; Watkins second in class and 37th outright whilst Rockliff just missing out on a podium spot in 4th outright.

The turn-around time from the second round of the state series only weeks ago at Latrobe has been tight for Rockliff and Boon with both cars having plenty of hours spent on them to make the trip. The story a little different for the Watkins Automotive prepared Tacoma which has had solid results in the first two state rounds seeing the Performance 2WD currently leading the state championship outright.

This year’s event gets underway Friday night with scrutiny in Sea Lake before the cars head to Lake Tyrell for prologue on Saturday. Sunday morning will see the teams arrive early in preparation for four laps around the lake, the race split into two sections of two laps with an hour service break between sections.
