With just on eight weeks until the Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400, the members of the Millicent Sand Buggy Club are in full swing with preparations for the 26-27 September event.

The supplementary regulations have been approved and published [click here] for the final round of the South Australian Off Road Championship and the third round of the ARB Off Road Racing Series.

The format will be similar to previous years with only a few timetable changes. As the event works in conjunction with Forestry SA and Onefortyone Plantations to select the most suitable route to avoid logging operations, the 69.5km course will vary to last year but retains its uniqueness with majority of the track running through the Tantanoola Forest.

“We have some new class sponsors coming on board to complement our long term sponsors that are supporting our event” added Daniel Lamb, event representative. “Also, we are doing a structured prizemoney schedule, so that means that the more entries we receive the more prizemoney we will be paying back to competitors… so make sure you tell your racing friends to enter and bump up the cash pool!”

As the final round of the South Australian Off Road Championship, and now the third round of the ARB Off Road Racing Series with the postponement this week of the Albins ARB Goondiwindi 400 to 31st October, the Pines is an ‘annual must do’ for teams across the southern states.

Two of the three rounds of the South Australian Off Road Championship have been run and won, and it looks set to be a showdown of the states brightest talent come the last weekend in September with the Haby Brothers, Greg Gartner, Daniel Lamb, Chris Western and Lindsay Foster fight it out for the state’s top honour.

The ARB Off Road Racing Series leader board is also close at the top with Brad Chasemore and Matthew Owen tied for first place and David Middlemiss not far behind in third. However, these three teams have already scored their WildCard event points, which could make it interesting with only two WildCard events left to run.
