Pines Update #1
Friday, 07 August 2015
The supplementary regulations and online entry form have been published and entries are coming in for the 2015 Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400. Now is the time to jump online to the event entry system and submit your entry for the final round of the South Australian Off Road Championship and the third round of the ARB Off Road Racing Series.

3009b_sm Scheduled for the weekend of 26-27 September the track runs through the Tantanoola Forest on the outskirts of Millicent in the South Australian south east. A staple on many off road racers diets, the great viewing from the Teagle Quarry arena also attracts a large spectator crowd.

The race committee have changed the prizemoney and entry fee structure this year. In short, once competitor numbers reach 85 entries the prizemoney will increase dramatically. If those 85 entries are lodged before the close of discounted entry, then the entry price will remain at the discounted rate until the close of entries.

A new addition to this years’ prologue format, will be the holding of the ten fastest cars on the infield; this will give the crowd a visual reference as to who is leading prologue and also make for a quicker transition from the prologue to the South Eastern Times Top 10 Shoot Out.

The Teagle Excavation ARB Pines Enduro 400 Committee are always thinking outside the box to come up with different ways to get the spectators and general public involved with the event. Last year Danny Brown was very generous in donating a ‘hot lap’, which the event auctioned on eBay and was purchased by Jake Williamson. We can announce today that the Committee have confirmed that they’re looking to run a similar promotion this year with details still to be confirmed.

Jake Williamson had this to say about his hot lap experience …
“The hot lap with Danny Brown on Saturday at the Pines was unbelievable. I’ve never been in a Pro Buggy before and Danny was great with telling me all about how the machine works during the lap. The 800 horsepower that it throws out really sat me back in my seat when we took off and I thought I’d actually better hold on. Once we got going into the lap he asked if I was travelling alright and I said, ‘sure am, give it heaps’.”

“Hitting the jumps and bumps at 150kms plus along the railway lines was a huge adrenaline rush but he knew when to back off and knew his and the cars limitations. The prologue track was pretty rough so the ability of the car to just glide through the terrain shows how much time and effort goes into setting up cars to constantly take a pounding. Hitting the final jump on the home straight was an awesome way to finish the lap off with us jumping what felt like 20 plus metres in the air and landing without hardly feeling a thing.”

“Danny was exceptional with the way he went about conducting the whole lap and left me with a great memory that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. I’d like to thank him and the Teagle Excavations Pines Enduro committee with giving this opportunity to the public to see what it would be like to be a part of such an awesome sport.”

3009c_sm “Danny also presented me with a bag of merchandise from his sponsors after the lap which included 2 Milwaukee t-shirts, 2 Milwaukee hats, Milwaukee stubby holder, Milwaukee pen, an ARB LED head lamp, an ARB toastie brander and a Rockwell watch.”
