As the clock counts down the remaining days until the Albins ARB Goondiwindi 400, teams are busy with the last minute rush in the workshop preparing their race cars for the gruelling 400kilometres that will challenge their preparation and driving skills.

The members of the Goondiwindi Motor Sports Association have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to prepare for the 81 competitors and their teams that are about to converge on Goondiwindi.

The track marking is finalised, the pits and start finish venue is awash with bunting and waiting for the influx of teams come Friday noon.

The weekend of motorsport activities kicks off on Friday with competitors undertaking main track reconnaissance before heading back into the Goondiwindi Showgrounds for documentation and scrutiny.

Friday afternoon – night is a great chance for the public to get up close with the race cars and the teams as they go on display following their safety and compliance checks from 4pm to 8pm. Catering will be available at the Showgrounds and is a great opportunity for fun family outing.

The 15km prologue is the first item on the agenda for Saturday, the first cars leaving the start line at 10:30. The Top 10 Shoot Out will immediately follow the prologue, where the ten fastest competitors have the chance to rerun the prologue track with the hope of bettering their time and start position for the afternoons one lap 80km dash through the Goondiwindi farmlands.

Sunday sees a further four laps of the gruelling 80km course, which is certain to be a test of man and machinery versus the elements and Mother Nature.

The competitor list currently rests on 81 with the unfortunate early withdrawals of Kevy Nott #78 and Paul Grant #405 and today’s withdrawal of #53 Corie Stone and #677 Justin Montesalvo.

To stay up to date with the happenings over the weekend, offroadracing.com.au will be providing their usual live timing and results service throughout the weekend.
