Sea Lake... Almost Time
Friday, 10 June 2016
The ARB Off Road Racing Series heads back to the track this weekend with second round, the MBL Sea Lake Mallee Rally ARB 450.

With maximum points up for the taking and five of the current top ten points leaders entered, the fight will be on the see who sits at the top of the leaderboard come the drop of the checkered flag.

Unfortunately for tied points leader Stephen Watkins, he and the two other Tasmanian entries, Tiny Boon and Darren Bott, were forced to withdraw. As a result of flooding in Northern Tasmania, all shipping out of Devonport has been cancelled due to debris and a build-up of silt in the shipping channel.

With the format of the event increased to five laps of the iconic Lake Tyrrell track, adding an extra 80km, it’s going to be a tough and gruelling weekend at the office for the 101 nominations.

Teams are now on the road heading from north south east and west, converging on the central Victorian mallee town in time for the 3pm scrutiny start. Locals will be out in force tonight as the scrutiny festival sets the scene for the weekends actions.

Come on down, talk to the competitors, have a bit to eat, drop in to the Sportzprint merchandise trailer and check out their wide range of event goodies, including hoodies, polos, bar mats and just for Sea Lake, GlowSticks.

The recreations camp grounds population is steadily growing as the tents, caravans and motorhomes roll into town.
