Pines Enduro Introduces Exciting New Format Change And Offers Racer Cash
Friday, 12 August 2016
The Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400 held on 23rd-25th September is one of the most popular events for off road racing competitors on the Australian Off Road Racing calendar and this year’s event promises to produce some extremely close and exciting racing action.

The promoters of the event, The Millicent Sand Buggy Club, have always been leaders in new innovations and this year will see a new race format added to the popular Millicent meeting.

Competitors will get a chance to inspect the main forest race track on Friday afternoon before unloading their vehicles for scrutineering from 5pm and a public display continuing into the night.

The on track entertainment will commence at 10am Saturday the 24th September with the Hards Transport Prologue held at Teagle's Quarry right on the outskirts of Millicent. The one lap sprint around the 6km track will see buggies, trophy trucks and 4WD's flying over the natural terrain and manmade jumps that are all visible from the main arena. This area is a favourite of competitors and spectators and is second to none in Australia to witness all the thrills and spills of these amazing machines close up.

After the Prologue has been completed competitors will be grouped into heats of 12 to 14 cars based on their qualifying time. Each heat will have cars starting in pairs with gaps of 30 seconds between each pair. The competitors will complete three laps of the 6km quarry circuit, and with the overall time counting towards their total race time for the event, this will ensure more competitors track time on Saturday and allowing spectators to see more of their favourite drivers throughout the day.

The main race will see the field head off to forest from 8.30 Sunday morning and has also seen format changes with the grid reversed based on Saturdays results. This will see the fastest cars set to take off at the rear of the field which should prove popular with many race teams tackling the local pine forests. It will mean that the smaller and less capable vehicles will get first use of the forest tracks and the faster cars will have the track swept clean as they take on the six by 70km circuit that winds through the Wattle Range Council roads, OneFortyOne Plantations and ForestrySA tracks.

As well as offering great racing the Pines committee has decided to award $1,000 cash to one "lucky racer".

All you have to do is enter the event and be present ready to race at Saturday’s competitor’s briefing. The cash prize will be drawn from a hat giving every competitor a chance to win $1000 CASH!

Classes will still receive prize money on Saturday with $250 going to the fastest lap per class (conditions apply) as well as $250 to the fastest outright lap put down during short course racing.

Class winners for the event will also receive $250 and a trophy for their efforts (conditions apply).

Also trying to encourage some early bird entries, any competitor that enters and pays in the first 48 hours after entries open will go into a draw to receive their $450 entry fee refunded!

Early entries will be open on Wednesday 17th August at 7pm (SA Time) and the 48 hours will expire on Friday 19th at 7pm (SA Time). There will be a Facebook "live" video of the winner being drawn at approx 8pm on Friday 19th August.

The Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400 is the fourth and deciding round 4 of the ARB Off Road Racing Series and Round 3 of the South Australian Off Road Championship and is expected to field over 80 cars at this year’s September 23-25th event.
