This weekend’s Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400 has attracted entries from across Australia and New Zealand to race for valuable ARB Off Road Racing Series and CAMS South Australian Off Road Championship points.

Among the entrants are current and former Australian Champions, reigning ARB Off Road Racing Series title holders and many State winners. The on track competition will be tight and tough through all classes as they take to the track on Saturday for the Hards Transport Prologue and then the heat races to conclude the days’ action before returning for the main race on Sunday morning.

Victorian Mark Burrows is a recent hall of fame inductee and has entered the #21 Jimco Pro buggy. The multi time Australian Champion knows the Onefortyone Forests very well and should be a contender for the win at this year’s event. Fresh off an outright win at Goondiwindi, the third round of the Series, and his second series win for the year, Danny Brown will be looking to repeat that performance when he lines up on Saturday in the immaculate Milwaukee Pro Buggy #42.

Last year’s event winner and newly crowned Australian Off Road Champion Jack Rhodes will be aiming for back to back victories at the Pines. Jack will be one to watch as he pushes the #91 twin turbo Jimco to its limits throughout the weekend. Another prominent driver looking to redeem himself from his 2015 big accident in the pine forest is Matt Hanson. The SMU Racing team have got the pro buggy #7 back in showroom condition and have recently tasted success at the recent Tyrrell Downs event a few weeks ago, and will be full of confidence heading into this weekend.

The well performed Element Racing Team have both cars primed in the hands of the Haby brothers with Aaron in the green machine looking for the top step of the podium in his 6lt V8 buggy. Carl has tasted success at the event a few years ago and has entered the Geiser Bros Trophy Truck looking to replicate that performance.

Greg Gartner’s #410 Ford powered Extreme 2WD is a crowd favourite wherever he races and will be sure to put on a show for the crowd during Saturday’s heat races and will be after a strong race finish after a fourth outright at this year’s Finke Desert Race. Throw in previous race winners Jamie Robinson, Garry Turnbull, former Australian Champion Craig Martin and the impressive Raana Horan from New Zealand and you have all the ingredients for some top class racing.

The ProLite Buggy class has a mix of youth and experience that will provide close racing throughout the event. They will be sure to place prominently in the outright positions at the conclusion of the event. Current ARB Off Road Racing Series class champion Dale Martin #103 will be one of these quick drivers in his V6 Nissan powered Tatum, already being on the outright podium twice this year. The Riverland duo of James Lochert #171 and Lindsay Foster #178 are sure to perform strongly and vie for class honours also. Queensland’s Troy Duff currently sits at the top of the outright ARB Off Road Racing Series point score and with good showing this weekend could take home the illustrious title.

Entries are looking strong throughout all classes and the Super 1650’s are the best represented with around 20 confirmed starters. These buggies love racing wheel to wheel and will not give an inch as they look for class supremacy. There are four locals currently entered in the 1650’s with Murray England, Aaron Heemskerk, Peter Tamblyn and Greg Vivian all hoping that their local knowledge will give them the edge they need over the interstate visiting teams.

Get down to watch all the action at the Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro in Millicent starting Friday night with scrutiny from 4.30pm – entry is free. Saturday’s prologue kicks off at 10am and has great facilities, catering and viewing area - entry is $15. Sunday racing starts at 8.30am with entry $10 with children under 15 free all weekend.

The Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400 is Round 4 of the ARB Off Road Racing Series and Round 3 of the CAMS South Australian Off Road Championship September 23-25th.
