Australian Off Road Commission (AORCom) Chair Marilyn Emmins has informed the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) that she will step down from the role of chairperson as of 31 August 2017.

Emmins has been an integral part of the off road racing scene at a national level for the better part of two decades.

She first sat on AORCom in 2003 and has served as the chair since 2010. She was also the first Sporting Director for the BFGoodrich CAMS Australian Off Road Championship when the role was introduced in 2014, and continues in that role at present.

CAMS President Andrew Papadopoulos has thanked Marilyn for her service to off road racing.

“Marilyn has contributed an enormous amount of time and energy to off road racing in Australia; her knowledge and passion is respected by off road competitors, volunteer officials and the CAMS administration alike,” Papadopoulos said.

“In her letter of resignation, Marilyn has said that she believes it is time for change; for someone else to step forward and fulfil the chairperson role for the future benefit of the off road discipline.

“We sincerely thank Marilyn for her tireless work over many years and look forward to her continued involvement in the sport.”

Nominations for AORCom for 2018 will open in October.
