This weekend Round Three of the 2017 Tasmanian Off Road Racing series rolls onto Peron Dunes for the St Helens Screamer.

Saturday eight cars will line up for three 40 minute heats around the white sand of Peron Dunes, situated on Tassie’s East Coast, just outside of the small town of St Helens.

The 2017 Tasmanian series battle for outright supremacy is set to continue with the two Pro-Lites of Chris Branch and Chris Boon going head to head this weekend. The pairing top this year’s leader board and are only separated by a handful of points with Boon currently leading Branch into this round; both cars are well matched on the sand and will turn on some close racing as they battle for outright contention .

Pro-Buggy pilots #81 Joey Tatnell and #23 Chris Shepheard have their machines ready to go as they battle for class championship points. Both cars have had plenty of work done since Symmons Plains; Tatnell with a new engine and Shepheard’s newly acquired Southern Cross has had countless hours of preparation.

#906 Michael Donohoe will be the third of the Pro buggies this weekend, the single seat Evo Tech making its first outing since the 2016 Tas Sand Enduro in November.

Making the trip north from Hobart will be the Males Racing Team with Mike behind the wheel of the #666 Can Am, Males also hoping to build on his points tally after finishing 3rd outright at Round 2 back in May.

Andrew Giffard and Geoff Lowry will both have their Super 1650’s on the start line; as always the Toyota 1600cc engines will be quick around the dunes.

Racing gets underway at 11.00am for Heat 1, the NWORCC will have a small canteen in the dunes and spectator entry will be free.

Presentations will be at the Bayside Inn on Saturday night following a counter meal at 6.30. It would be appreciated if those wishing to attend could RSVP to Marianne Donohoe (Event Secretary) asap so that numbers can be confirmed with the venue.
