Ayers Racing will return to the track this weekend for a fourth time in 2017 with team driver Luke Ayers to pilot the Tatum powered Chev alongside a surprise guest navigator at the 40th anniversary of Albins ARB Goondiwindi 400.

After a couple of mixed results to begin their season were erased by the teams spirited seventh outright at this year’s Tatts Finke Desert Race, which included a guest driver for the weekend Harley Letner. Luke and his team have shifted their attention to the upcoming 400kms on the off road racing calendar - a brutally challenging Goondiwindi.

Famously renowned for its melon holes, Ayers will meet green for a fifth time at Goondiwindi and this time around Malapunya Run is going to be a lot smoother in the Tatum than previous attempts in an Extreme 4WD Hilux.

Excited to see how far they can push the Tatum, and in only his third race in the car, Luke has sourced a Wildcard navigator for the weekend; Bryce Chapman.

With Ayers’s regular navigator Josh Attard unable to make the event and Chapman still waiting on parts for the Runamuk Jimco, it created the perfect opportunity to throw Bryce into an unfamiliar navigator’s seat.

A confident Ayers is excited for the weekend ahead “I’m starting to really feel comfortable in the car now and to have someone like Bryce who knows his way around this track as good as anyone in the car at Goondiwindi, who knows what could happen!”

The team are keen to see where they can end up at Round 5 of the ARB Australian Off Road Racing Series in what is a super high quality field. Bryce managed to bring his own Jimco home in third outright last year at Goondiwindi, something Ayers and Chapman would like to repeat or better in 2017.

Ayers Racing would like to thank all there dedicated sponsors for all continued support, including – Hercules Tires, Ayers Signs, Fataz Competition Engines, All Four x Four Parts Minden & Off-road Cartel. See you at the track
