Entries for the Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro 400, the sixth and final round of the 2017 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Series and the second round of the 2017 Element Off Road AORRA South Australian Off Road Racing Championship open at 5:00pm, Friday 25th August (South Australian time).

2017 is a milestone year for the event; celebrating 40 continuous years of off road racing through the Tantanoola Forest. The Millicent Sand Buggy Club have organised a big screen, which will be located in Teagles’ Quarry and broadcast live action from around the track.

There will also be helicopter joy flights, lots of choices for food and beverages, and awesome off road racing action as some of the best off road machines and racers from across Australia converge on Millicent over the weekend of 21st to 23rd September.

Event naming rights partner Teagle Excavations, have been busy with their heavy machinery doing earthworks in the quarry, reducing the possibility of standing water in the event of a wet event.

This year’s event could attract a record field with the ARB Australian Off Road Racing Series outright title wide open and only a few of the classes titles already decided.

The promoters of the event, The Millicent Sand Buggy Club, last year announced a change in the event format with short course laps to be raced on Saturday. However, wet weather saw the cancelling of Saturday’s racing last year. This year the club are once again excited to be launching the new format which will provide plenty of action for the spectators.

Competitors will get a chance to inspect the main forest race track on Friday afternoon before unloading their vehicles for scrutiny from 5pm and a public display continuing into the night at Teagle’s Quarry.

The on track entertainment will commence at 10am Saturday the 23rd September with the Hards Transport Prologue held at Teagle's Quarry right on the outskirts of Millicent. The one lap sprint around the 6km track will see buggies, trophy trucks and 4WD's flying over the natural terrain and manmade jumps that are all visible from the main arena. This area is a favourite of competitors and spectators and is second to none in Australia to witness all the thrills and spills of these amazing machines close up.

After the Prologue has been completed competitors will be grouped into heats of 12 to 14 cars based on their qualifying time. Each heat will have cars starting in pairs with gaps of 30 seconds between each pair. The competitors will complete three laps of the 6km quarry circuit, and with the overall time counting towards their total race time for the event, this will ensure more track time on Saturday for the competitors and allowing spectators to see more of their favourite drivers throughout the day.

The main race will see the field head off to forest from 8.30am Sunday morning with the grid reversed based on Saturdays results. This will see the fastest cars set to take off at the rear of the field which proved popular with last years competitors. This will mean that the smaller and less horse power vehicles will get first use of the forest tracks and the faster cars will have the track swept clean as they take on the six laps of the 75km circuit that winds through the Wattle Range Council roads, OneFortyOne Plantations and Forestry SA tracks.

Entry form can be found here.
