Name Change for SuperLite Classes
Sunday, 03 December 2017
Effective from 1st January 2018 the CAMS SuperLite classes will be renamed to SxS Turbo and SxS Sport (Side By Side) as minuted from the 31 October 2017 Australian Off Road Commission teleconference.

Following a meeting hosted by CAMS, which included invited competitor representatives and manufacturer representatives from Yamaha, Can-Am and Polaris, which discussed amendments to the regulations, the decision was made to further delineate both classes as turbo and naturally aspirated.

It was established that SxS Turbo would not permit a naturally aspirated engine to compete within the same class, even if the engine capacity fits within the threshold of 2050cc and is above 1201cc.

SxS Turbo (replacing Superlite B) - Off Road Recreational Vehicles (eg Polaris, Can-Am) with a supercharged/turbocharged engine of a capacity greater than 1200cc and not exceeding 2050cc;

SxS Sport (replacing Superlite A) - Off Road recreational vehicles (e.g., Polaris, Can-Am) with a naturally aspirated engine of a capacity not exceeding 1200cc.

The car numbers will remain the same with SxS Turbo starting with #6 and SxS Sport starting with #66.
