New Format ARB Sunraysia 400
Monday, 15 January 2018
While offroaders around the country have been enjoying their summer off season, the members of the Sunraysia Motor Sport Club have been busy planning for their upcoming event, the ARB Sunraysia 400.

Held over the weekend of 20-22 April, the second round of the 2018 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship runs through Keera Station, 50km west of Mildura.

At a recent meeting, the club decided to change the format of the event to be inline with the 2017 ARB Griffith 400, with the expectation of replicating the success of the two race format.

The Griffith Off Road Club introduced the two race format after an extended dry summer, dusty race conditions were forecasted. Splitting the field into two races based on classes allowed for safer, fairer and more competitive racing.

The 2018 ARB Sunraysia 400 scrutiny will this year be held at the Keera Station event headquarters precinct from 3pm to 8pm on Friday 20th April, with reconnaissance also scheduled for Friday.

Saturday will see all teams hitting the 10km Prologue course for their qualifying runs followed by classes 2, 3, 5, 6, 66, 7, 8 and 10 competing six laps of the 65km long course through Keera Station, totalling in at 390kms long course distance.

The Unlimited, class 1 and 4 teams will greet the starter on Sunday morning for their six laps, with the results from the two days racing merged to give total event result.

The event will also be having a pit / paddock area. The paddock will become a pit at a designated time - which will be advised in the supplementary regulations. The pits will go back to a paddock again when the start line closes on both Saturday and Sunday.

Catering will be provided at the track throughout the weekend with a roast dinner available Saturday night. There will be camping available at the track in a designated camping area at a cost of $20 per person over the age of 16 for the weekend. Showers and toilets will be available.

Camping will be in the designated camp area only - there will be NO camping in the pit / paddock area.

As Keera Station is a working farm property, we ask that no dogs or glass is bought onto the property.
