The Lockyer Enduro is fast approaching and the organisers have been busy preparing for the 2018 event schedule for 3-4 March.

The event will be the first event off the blocks for the CAMS Queensland Off Road calendar and will also be Round 1 of the Queensland Off Road Championship and the Queensland Off Road Drivers Series.

The event will take place at Thornton in the Lockyer Valley, the same venue as in previous years with the event headquarters and pits situated on the property at the western end of Peters Road.

The course layout and format will also be the same as previous events with the event run over four sections consisting of short and long course laps. The short course laps will be approximately 11-12km laps and the long course laps around 18 km.

Section 1 and 2 will be made up of the short course laps and sections 3 and 4 will be the long course 18km laps.

A new initiative for the 2018 Lockyer Enduro will give competitors the opportunity to enter and compete in either the Short Course portion of the event at a reduced entry fee OR to enter both the Long Course and Short Course for the full entry.

Due to the format of dividing the field into separate groups for section 1 one 2, teams we will also be given the option of double entering vehicles to compete in the Short Course portion of the event.

To be eligible for the Long Course portion of the event and CAMS Queensland Off Road Championship (QORC) points, teams must complete both the short course and long course sections of the Lockyer Enduro.

Full details of how the event will be conducted can be found in the event Supplementary Regulations which will be released in the next week.
