This weekend 74 teams will converge on the Queensland border town of Goondiwindi for the penultimate round of the 2018 ARB Off Road Racing Championship, where they will tackle the infamous melon holes!

Last year it was the #93 Alumni Craft of Aaron James who completed one of the toughest off road tracks in Australia on top, though the Victorian will not be lining up this weekend, opening up the gate for a new champion!

With extreme dry and dusty conditions set to play a factor, a spectacle of off road racing is a guarantee with 7 of the top 10 outright championship contenders spearheaded by Brent Martin #120 headlining round 5.

Martin fresh off a second outright at the Waikerie Hotel Riverland Enduro finds himself in a similar position to his brother Dale #101 was last year, leading the ARB Championship heading into the final two rounds in a Class 1 machine. In a serious consistent season to date, Brent is hoping for another clean run to add more valuable points to their title hopes - with the championship adopting a four out of six rounds to count.

Current Class 5 front runner Bernie Clohesy #570 sits in second outright after a stellar season to date and will return to Goondiwindi looking to further his claim, so too will Paul Grant #405 and his Class 4 Oz Truck team who find themselves third in the outright standings.

Defending ARB Champion and multiple Goondiwindi victor Danny Brown #1 headlines an array of outright contenders this weekend in his unlimited class Jimco. Brown will do battle with father Andy #45, the experienced Craig Martin #25, hard charging North Queenslanders Talbot Cox #16 and Michael Marson #32, New Zealanders John Morgan #54 and Richard Crabb #98 and Luke Ayers #59, Michael Collins #12 all eager for a shot at the silverware.

Brent Martin will be joined in the class 1 field by local Queenslanders Tony Fehlaber #138, Troy Duff #124 and Les Marshall #105 who are all genuine shots at an outright podium. Class 10 was to be led by the class championship header and fifth outright competitor Dean Meginley #1087, until his withdrawal late today leaving the door wide open for Steven Graham #1064 and Rohan Merchant #1096.

Defending class 2 ARB champion Daniel Wells #201, who currently sits sixth outright, will line up beside Griffith competitors Rhett #225 and Dale #292 Standen who stand as his biggest rivals. Whilst Aaron Merchant #396, Steven Orr #351 and Taylor Teichman #364 are set for battle in class 3.

The highly entertaining class 4 trophy trucks are set to entertain the crowds once again, with class leader Paul Grant joined by the aggressive Luke Hall #488, Ivan Robertson #471, Kris Booth #472 and Goondiwindi club president Jamie Knight #439, who pose as the biggest threats.

Class 5 is again well represented in Queensland with Tasmania's Stephen Watkins #501, joined by young guns Tyler Youman #527 and Stuart Chapman #520 set to be Clohesy's biggest challengers. The class 66 field is headed by Gary Taylor #6601, Allan Muir #6633 and the ever improving Brayden Mifsud #6626, whilst Victorian Jason Forssman #774 leads out the class 7 field featuring Jason Keane #722 and Jodie Allen #778.

The ever popular class 6 field is one to watch over the weekend, with David Loughnan #611, Sybrand de Klerk #652, Jeff McNiven #603 and Craig McDonald #656 amongst the favourites.

Incredibly the class 8 field is the largest at Goondiwindi with 14 entrants which is fantastic for the sport, Clayton Chapman #815 will no doubt be the one to watch, though will be joined by Owen Ward #801, Steven Kildey #812, Mark Reynolds #817 and Daniel Brown #877 all out to put on a tin top clinic for the locals.
