Record Numbers for Burdekin
Wednesday, 01 May 2019
The Mickey Thompson Tires AORRA Queensland Off Road Racing Championship heads north this weekend for the second round, the Burdekin 300.

With a record breaking number of entries, coupled with welcoming North Queensland Hard Facing as their new major supporter, the Burkekin Off Road Club members are excited for the weekend and in full swing with preparations.

“52 entries has by far exceeded our expectations” explained Michael Marson, club representative. “It’s going to be a phenomenal weekend. Talbot and the boys have been out on the track day after day making sure it’s in tip top shape.”

“The track, the pits and the venue are looking an absolute picture. We’ve doubled the size of the pits to cater for the large field; and we’ve extended the track by 8km – giving us a 38km lap.”

With a favourable weather forecast for the weekend and recent rain settling the dust, the Burdekin region will come alive to the sound of off road machines as teams from across the state converge on the Burdekin 300 in the coming days.

The combined enduro course and sprint course format is back with both Saturday and Sunday running a sprint section after the enduro track laps – a popular attraction for spectators.

The Burdekin Amateur Anglers club will be onsite providing catering across the weekend and with full camping facilities, pack your swag and head on down to the Burdekin 300 supported by North Queensland Hard Facing, for a great fun weekend of off road racing.
