As the dust settles on the 2019 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship, competitors are celebrating and lamenting the highs and lows of a challenging year. Aaron and Liz Haby earned the right to don the #1 plate for the 2020 season after a stellar performance throughout the year.

The Championship Committee have been hard at work in the background looking to next year and have released the dates for the 2020 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship.

Danny Brown, Championship Committee Chair explained… “2020 will see the Championship return to the four founding events with both the Sunraysia and Waikerie events taking a step back from the 2020 Championship as they wait-out the effects of the drought”.

“The move of the Stackpoole event from March to July this year was well received by competitors with the club looking to build on that successes in 2020 and beyond.”

Sea Lake has been the place to be for the June long weekend – 5-7 June - for well over 40 years and 2020 will be no different as the opening round for the 2020 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship. Round 2 as mentioned will be at Stackpoole and round 3 at Goondiwindi will hold their dates from 2019 – July 3-5 and August 14-16 respectively. The grand finale event, round 4, at Millicent, have moved back a weekend to avoid a date clash with the Supercars at The Bend – September 25-27.

Sea Lake June 5/7
Stackpoole July 3/5
Goondiwindi August 14/16
Pines September 25/27

“Competitor support of the Championship was strong throughout 2019 and we look forward to seeing all the regular faces, and hopefully new ones, at the 2020 Championship.”

Also, as in previous years, teams will register with the ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship to qualify for the point score. Registration will open in early 2020 with 20 bonus points on offer for registrations received before the close of entries of the opening round.

“As a committee, we are committed to the charter agreed at the inaugural meeting… to promote a safe, fair and enjoyable family friendly series with a focus on a transparent, open and professional attitude to competitors.”
