Diaper Station 100 podium... Chapman, Swinglehurst, Ayers
Friday, 18 October 2019
Land Cruiser Mountain Park has long been a favourite retreat for Queenslanders; the 10,000 acre property offering wilderness camping and four wheel adventure driving. The peace and tranquillity was disrupted last weekend when 42 off road racing machines came to life and belted through the terrains of Land Cruiser Mountain Park for the Diaper Station 100.

Clayton Chapman had an incident free weekend, driving the #15 Razorback to the top of the timesheets after 100km of off road racing; Chapman’s total time of 1h22m57.23seconds beat out young up comer Tom Swinglehurst #610- 1h24m21.60seconds, for the outright win.

Third place went to Sybrand DeKlerk #652 in 1h25m14.79seconds, closely followed by Luke Ayers #59 – 1h25m31.35seconds; Ayers narrowly edging out Michael Zacka #613 just 2 seconds behind 1h25m33.45seconds to round out the Diaper Station 100 to five.

Mother Nature turned on near perfect conditions for the weekend. 25-30mm of began to fall as scrutiny was underway, leaving the course damp but relatively dust free for Saturday’s racing. “Saturday’s racing was absolutely amazing; the best track and conditions we’ve had at the Park. Sunday got a little dusty, but overall we couldn’t have asked for better weather or conditions” stated Rob Chapman, Assistant Clerk of the Course.

“A massive thank you to the Perrett family for the use of Land Cruiser Mountain Park; the facilities and atmosphere here are second to none”.
