Friday 9th October 2020 the Australian off road racing family lost a rare gem; it is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Nev Taylor.

Nev was first and foremost a family man, but coming in a very close second was his love and passion for off road racing; a passion he has engendered in his children and grandchildren.

It is often said that the family that race together, stay together, and that is indicative of Team Taylor.  Nev’s wife Annette was always by his side and children Hayley, Michael, Clayton and Ryan have all been involved in the sport.

Nev’s early days saw him claim multiple Australian Class 4 titles in his beloved VW Baja’s, some of that time spent racing under the Yokohama Team banner. Nev moved from the Baja class after purchasing the Kuster Raceco Class 1 buggy from the Zacka family.

There have been many highs and some spectacular lows for Nev and Team Taylor throughout the years; the fire at the 2016 Sunraysia event that all but destroyed the teams' GET Pro buggy bookends an illustrious career of 40 plus years of off road racing.

The team summed up their respect for Nev with a recent Father’s Day post “Happy a Father’s Day to the man who taught us how to work, live, laugh and how to go fast!!!”

While Nev’s life was tragically cut short at 66 years young, he packed a lot of living into those years.  Nev lived his life to the fullest, was blessed with a loving and devoted family and he’s left a legacy of children and grandchildren that will race in his honour, keeping the memory and spirt of Nev Taylor alive.

Rest is peace dear friend.
