Tribute to Terry Rose
Thursday, 04 February 2021
As hard as it is to write, it is with the heaviest of hearts that we must acknowledge the tragic passing of our most cherished member, leader and idol Terry Rose.

To sum up this heartfelt tribute, we simply wouldn’t be writing it if not for the legacy our beloved Terry has created on and off the track at Warialda.

There is no one in Off Road Racing that would disagree with the Warialda 200 being amongst the pinnacle events of our sport, largely thanks to a man that quickly became ‘Big Wheel’.

Terry started his career in the mid 1980’s, claiming multiple Class 2 Australian championship before securing back to back outright Australian Off Road Championships in 1999 and 2000 in the team’s Raceco #11.

Terry you were an inspiration and role model for so many creating a way of life that will never be forgotten! The memories of you battling the best on your beloved Mt Monomeeth capturing six home titles will forever be in our hearts #11

The WMSC would like to pass on their deepest condolences to Terry’s wife and long time navigator Maureen and his children Howard, Leanne and Teresa and extended family during this difficult time.

As tributes and memories continue to be shared all across the country, it is all so fitting for one of the more revered competitors and true legends that our community and sport has ever seen. On Tuesday the 9th of February the family and friends will be celebrating the life of Terry.

The service will be held at the Anglican Church Warialda from 11am, before proceeding to the Warialda Cemetery for the final farewell.

Race in Peace Terry, you fought this battle like every lap, as if it was your last. A clear resemblance of how you lived your life.

RIP Terry Rose #11
