The 2021 Tatts Finke Desert Race has been run and won with Toby Price securing the King of the Desert mantle alongside navigators Joseph Weining and Mark Dutton in the #487 Geiser Bros Trophy Truck.

After 2 days of flat out off road racing, Prices finished the event in a total time of 3h22m31.7sm which was just 1m19seconds ahead of second placed Josh Howells and Eric Hume #15. Howell said in a post race interview “we pretty much gave it everything we had. We were comfortable and driving within our limits there and back this weekend … We’re stoked to be back on the podium and a top 10 finish here.”

Rounding out the 2021 Tatts Finke Desert Race podium was long time Finke supporter and competitor Beau Robinson and Shane Hutt; the Geiser Bros Trophy Truck #413 4m20.9seconds shy of Howells.

The single seat #93 of Aaron James slotted into fourth place followed by Peter Costello and Ben Brooks #23 in fifth. Ex Finke champion Brad Gallard with Dean Keyes and Scott Modistach navigating the #454 machine were in sixth place ahead of local father and daughter duo Andrew and Teegan Mowles #135.

Michael Marson and Chris Colborne drove the #32 Racer Engineering buggy into eight place missing out on seventh place to Mowles by just 3 seconds.

Billy Geddes and Jamie Ward #441 were 42 seconds back from Marson to take night place and 46seconds in front of Talbot cox and Craig King; the #16 Racer Engineering buggy hitting a rock and destroying a tyre and rim on the return leg costing the North Queensland team 8 minutes, completing the top ten competitors at Finke.
