The 2021 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship is officially null and void.

The recent announcement of the cancellation of the remaining two rounds at Millicent and Goondiwindi confirmed that the year was done for the Championship contenders.

As per the Championship regulations, at least two rounds must be held for the Championship to be valid, and unfortunately for 2021, the Pooncarie ARB Desert Dash, which was the season opener in April, is the only event to go green this year.

Danny Brown, Championship representative had this to say … “it’s been a difficult year for everyone. The Championship committee, which is made up of the four founding clubs plus the recent event additions, are all very passionate about our Championship and they put in a lot of work behind the scenes to make it happen each year; it’s very disappointing that, for two years now, we haven’t been able to run, and we haven’t been able to celebrate our winners at our end of year presentation dinner”.

“2021 year started off great – certainly much better than 2020. The Championship clubs did what they always do, pitching in to get the new event at Pooncarie across the line; and given what we now know with restrictions, we were extremely lucky it was able to run. … then the weather affected Hillston and Gundy and now Covid; all we can do is hope for a better 2022”.

With the 2021 national and state off road racing season almost done, competitors are looking forward to 2022, however, with restrictions still in place in some states, it’s been difficult for some clubs to have their meetings to set their dates for 2022.

The ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship Committee can confirm that, to date, that dates have been submitted for Hillston, Goondiwindi and Millicent.

Hillston - 9-10 July
Goondiwindi - 13th-14th August
Millicent (Pines) - 23-25 September 2022

“While our complete calendar is not set as yet, the committee felt it was important to release the dates of the confirmed events so our competitors knew we are still here, planning and hoping for a better 2022" explained Danny Brown.
